THE largest organic fruit salad, longest straw chain and most lemons cut in mid-air were among the quirkier records set at Gladfield at the weekend - but the most important one was surely the most trees planted in an hour.
Treehenge senior consultant Maryanne Thompson said about 90 people gathered for the Wild World Records event at the Treehenge site on Saturday, to help make it into the history books by planting 130 trees in a logo.
She said it was exciting to see just how many people got involved in the unique event aimed at raising awareness.
Despite not getting quite as many trees in the ground as first thought, Mrs Thompson said it was a great...

Thanks to all the volunteers and sponsors for participating in our planting day on the Weekend. It was a fantastic day!
About 90 people turned out to help us on the day which was fantastic. Ipswich Queens Park Scout Group and the team from Nissan Warwick were some of the participants on the day. The Largest Organic Fruit Salad weighed in at 21.49kg and Metro managed 45 litres of hand squeezed lemonade which was really tasty! Thanks to Mr Organic of Toowoomba the fruit salad was very popular and was beautiful.
The kids had a fantastic time and it was well worth it to see them having so much fun planting. It was hard going on the day and hot so the kids did a great job.
WILD World Records adjudicators Daniel and Annemarie Van Hees were very happy the records and are hoping to set some more at the next planting.
Jigsaw Event Planners who donated their time and theming were an absolute must on the day and it could not have been so smooth without them. Thanks to the team at Jigsaw....

We are only 3 days away from planting and it is panning out to be a fantastic day with people coming from as far as Melbourne to plant their dedicated trees. It is such a lovely idea for people to come and plant their own trees. So far there are 5 groups of people planting their dedicated trees on the day. Treehenge staff will be planting a memorial tree for Daniel Morcombe on the day. There have been a couple more sponsors jump on board as well. Entice Me Catering has donated bread for the day, Masterfoods is helping out with our saucing requirements, Woolworths have dontated a $50 voucher for drinks on the day. Its a wonderful feeling to see everyone getting behind us for this momentous occasion.
In other really exciting news we just had our first dedication in Victoria due to the hard work of our Representative in the Melbourne office Hugh Bathurst. Congratulations Hugh!! A sign of more good things to come we are sure.

Please feel free to share with any locals that may want to participate. We have got a couple more sponsors on board for the day to help out with various donations. Mr Organic from Toowoomba is sponsoring the fruit for Largest Fruit Salad.
Holistic Hospitality is sponsoring sausages for the event and Head Chef Paul Boone is donating his services to cook on the day.
If anyone has any service or sponsorship they would like to offer please dont hesitate to contact me.
In other news the caretakers of Gladfield moved in last week and are loving the property and its surrounds. Barry and Kathy come from large properties in the far North of QLD and really are enjoying the location they have moved to here. They will be maintaining and servicing any needs we have on the property. We welcome them to Treehenge. ...
